Found this view of Carclew House painted by Algernon Cecil Newton.
Newton was born in Hampstead London in 1880, grandson of Henry Newton (one of the founders of Windsor & Newton, suppliers of artists materials). He got Pneumonia whilst serving in WW1 and was invalided out in 1916.
Newton then spent the next few years living in Cornwall recuperating.
He returned to London in 1919 before the house sadly burnt down in 1934.
