Perran-ar-worthal local history group

Perran-ar-worthal Local History Group (PLHG) was initiated in May 2017 following several informal gatherings at The Royal Oak. The aims of the group are to research, study and record the archaeology and history of Perran-ar-worthal.

We have a one-page constitution, a committee of 6, including 3 officers, and an AGM in March each year.

We have dedicated pages for our meetings, historic photos and archive articles.

In addition, as of 31st December 2017 we have:

  • Provisional areas of research:

    • Communications

    • Environment

    • Industry

    • Demographics

    • Religion

    • Recreation

    • Early History/ Archaeology

    • Oral History

  • 26 paid up members and had visitors to our open events ‘Historic Cornwall from the Air’ and ‘Exploring Feock and it’s historical heritage’.

  • Participated in the Big Village event – with display boards in the village hall and a ‘Show and Tell' event in the pub.

  • Launched a Facebook page ‘Memories of Perranwell and Perranarworthal’ where we encourage historical photographs to be uploaded.
